4th Friday ArtWalk A High Quality Guild Event
|
NOTE: The East Valley Art Guild does not endorse, and is not in anyway connected with the organization, the promotion, or the quality of the current Chandler ArtWalk. Chandler ArtWalk Clarifications There is still much confusion, especially among new artists to the valley, about the connection between Chandler ArtWalk, and the the Chandler Art Guild, which is part of the East Valley Art Guild. The East Valley Art Guild founded and organized the 1st Wednesday Chandler ArtWalk from February 2007 to October 2007. During that time period, the event was organized, promoted, and successfully staged with close to 75 Fine Artists and Fine Craft Artisans, exhibiting with music, and a magical atmosphere. The event had expanded to fill Boston Street, San Marcos, and the AJ Park area. Close to 2000 people attended the last event in October 2007 that was hosted by the East Valley Art Guild. At the end of October 2007, the merchants association (DCCP) and the East Valley Art Guild had a major disagreement over the management and direction of the 1st Wednesday Chandler ArtWalk. The DCCP had the event permit cancelled, and unethically took over the 1st Wednesday ArtWalk, forcing the East Valley Art Guild and its 200 juried members to abandon the ArtWalk they created, promoted, and successfully staged for the benefit of the Chandler community. The DCCP slightly renamed the event, but kept the dates, times, locations the same in an attempt to fool the public into thinking it was the same quality event as it was when the Chandler Art Guild organized and promoted it. Much to their discredit, the DCCP (Downtown Chandler Merchants Association) has purposely created much confusion among artists and patrons, by trying to capitalize on the previous event names, dates, and times. This web page exists because of that confusion. The East Valley Art Guild does not endorse, or is in anyway connected with the organization, the promotion, or the perceived quality of the current Chandler ArtWalk. I do not believe patronizing an event taken from a volunteer arts organization in this manner, is in the best interest of the artists, the arts community, or the citizens of Chandler. The East Valley Art Guild has relocated their high quality Fine Art and Fine Craft juried ArtWalk event to the Theater District of the new Mesa Riverview Center at Loop 202 and 101., just East of Tempe Marketplace. Our 4th Friday ArtWalk event is considered one of the finest arts events in the East Valley. The 200 juried members of the East Valley Art Guild invite you to attend this quality arts event. Exhibit information and directions can be found on the home page of this web site. If you have any questions, please contact me at rfloydaz@cox.net or 480-206-5895. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope it helps clear up some misconceptions and untruths that are perpetuated by the current organizers of the Chandler Arts and Crafts event.
